He Came

He came with god given might in his hands
and virtue came with him

He was known as a simple man
and in simple words he had much to say

He spoke in parables
Dazzling massed
And wherever he spoke
people listened
He spoke of his god
of his people
He prayed every day
and where he went
people followed and lined the streets
Some just to touch him

Across land and sea they came
to watch him perform unheard of feats  with his human hands
Songs are sung in his name
Movies and theatre are made of him
and walls are decorated of his image

The most recognised man ever
who still enters hearts of mankind worldwide
across creed, nationalities and ages
For he walked among the poor
encouraged the children
and inspired compelling faith

For he fell not foul to the temptations of indulgence
and sacrificed more than a man would
in the nature of philanthropy

All are welcome at his table
though in the midst of his closest followers
there was sabotage
and the powers of the day were as the swine of Babylonia
They fumed
and spied and propagated
before allowing themselves an opportunity to be overwhelmed
And though his physical wonders
and passionate cry
are no longer with us
They love him
His name alone ignites conversation
for.befitting of his immense character he spoke not humbly of his greatness
Indeed he said boldly unto the flock
in words that would span time
and conjure joy
"Man, I float like a butterfly...."

Car failure...stranded

Mario comes into my head at a time like this
As lightning forms noodle shapes like sparklers we had as kids on guy Fawkes

Comfort brushes in thick coats down my eyelids till cold is a faded echo

and he stands there
A knight
With laughter in his cheeks
Oh naturel
A saint
An engineer
My friend
My big brother

Though I'll smile
he can tell
when all is and is not well
His hand cups my finger
and won't let me pull the pin
to implode on my private hells
